What happened to Russell Westbrook during the game against the Denver Nuggets has interested NBA fans. The aspiring athlete seems to have dislocated his pinky finger.

Russell Westbrook was born in a nice area near Los Angeles in 1998. He is an American professional basketball player who plays in the National Basketball Association for the Los Angeles Lakers (NBA).

When Westbrook and his best friend Khelcey Barrs III were young and lived in Hawthorne, they dreamed of going to UCLA together and playing sports there. Barrs died suddenly and tragically in May 2004 while playing pick-up basketball.

The American basketball player was even more driven to reach his goal after the death of his best friend. The summer before his senior year, he finally got his first letter from a college.

During his senior year, he had 14 games with both a point and a rebound. Ben Howland, who is in charge of sports at UCLA, also signed the athlete’s contract.

Westbrook turned down other offers so he could wait for UCLA’s Jordan Farmar to leave early for the NBA and open up a scholarship.

Find Out What Happened To Russell Westbrook

The NBA player seemed to break his pinky finger while playing against the Denver Nuggets. During the game, the player has to move his finger twice.

But this is the second time a sports event has hurt him. Fox Sport says that the NBA player has had torn ankles, hamstrings, feet, and shoulders on his left side over the course of his career.

The worst one happened in 2013 when Westbrook was playing against the Houston Rockets and one of his opponents hurt his right knee by accident.

In the end, an MRI showed that Westbrook’s right knee was torn and needed surgery. Because of the accident, he had to miss the first three games of the season.

But the athlete got better after treatment and played for the Oklahoma City Thunder for 25 games before his knee injury got worse and turned into edema. He missed 28 games for the rest of the season.

What Caused Russell Westbrook’s Trade?

Russell Westbrook was sent to the Lakers by the Jazz because it seemed like the star player didn’t fit in well and had some problems with his teammates.

The New York Times says that before the 2021–22 season, the Lakers got Westbrook from the Washington Wizards in a trade. The Lakers had to give up a few important players to their 2020 championship run to get Westbrook.

But it looks like the last most valuable player needed help getting used to coming off the bench and not being the main player who handles the ball. When professional athletes did well in the past, many people would go to the game.

On April 4, 2010, the player lost 116-108 to the Minnesota Timberwolves, even though he had a career-high 16 assists.

Russell averaged three triple-doubles over the course of four years. It looks like the triple-double machine has taken over the news.

Along with this, the number of athletes being drafted has gone down. Some people think the player is acting more for himself than for the team’s good.

Russell Westbrook Injury Updates

Bleacher Report says that the basketball player dislocated his pinky finger during the game, but an X-ray showed that he was not hurt.

Other than the x-ray results, there doesn’t seem to be any important information about the player’s finger injury.

In the same way, Westbrook had to leave the Hornets game because he hurt his left foot since the problem has been going on for a few weeks and is acting up again.
