Mallory Beach died in the boat disaster, and many other passengers also suffered injuries.
A 17-foot boat carrying a group of friends was involved in an accident on Archer’s Creek near Parris Island, South Carolina. As the boat slammed into a piling at full speed, all of the passengers were flung into the water.
A week after Mallory Beach vanished, her body was found. Two other passengers also suffered from fractured bones, internal bleeding, and brain trauma.
The collision’s cause was investigated after the incident, and Paul Murdaugh, who was in charge of the boat at the time, was charged with a felony.
Murdaugh was charged with one crime of causing great bodily harm or death, three counts of driving a boat while intoxicated, and one count of causing great bodily harm or death.
The case has gained a lot of attention because of the Murdaugh family’s reputation in South Carolina’s legal community and the notion that they might have gotten special treatment from police officials.
Paul Murdaugh and his mother were found dead in June 2021 at their family’s hunting property, which the authorities have labeled a double homicide.

According to Mark Tinsely, the lawyer for the Mallory Beach family, the judge approved a settlement between the family and two relatives of Alex Murdaugh’s family in 2023.

The daughter of Renee Searson Beach of Brunson and Phillip Harley Beach(Robin) of Hampton, Mallory was born on April 18, 1999, in Walterboro. She participated in football at Wade Hampton High School.
She enjoyed going hunting with her father and joined the Huggin Oak Church of God in Cummings. Mallory, who worked at the Beaufort clothing store “It’s Retail Therapy,” was adored by her family and close friends.
Her two oldest siblings, Morgan Beach Black and Savannah Beach Tuten are now married to Seth Tuten and Allen Black, respectively.
