The detectives came on Khan’s residence to inquire about claims of buying and selling gifts from foreign officials without authorization. The police attempted to arrest Imran Khan, the former prime minister, but he wasn’t at home.
The police charged Khan with evading arrest when he failed to show up for the case hearings, and on Tuesday they issued a non-bailable warrant for his arrest. Khan has denied being involved in the suspected product smuggling.
