Having been attacked and suffering from serious injuries, he was brought to St. Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin, but he passed away there.
The 18-year-old student from the Gorey School passed very suddenly on February 14 after being in a coma for many days.

On Friday, February 17, 2023, a funeral service for Colm will be held at Flood’s Funeral Home in Gorey on McDermott Street.
The funeral liturgy will occur at 11 a.m. on February 18, 2023, in St. Pattrick’s Church in Castletown and will be followed by a cremation at Mount Jerome Crematorium.
At the crematorium ceremony, only immediate family members will be present. The intensive care unit at Dublin’s St. Vincent’s Hospital accepts donations from anyone.
“Words cannot explain how extremely disappointed we are as a sporting club to receive this news,” one club member exclaimed. God bless Colm’s family, friends, teammates from school and sports, and all those who knew him. He was a kind man who will be missed.
Colm’s former teacher remembered him as such a delightful rascal. He was very courteous.
